MEC Lehari's Department Convenes the Anti Rhino Poaching and Endangered Species Awareness Campaign at Pilanesberg, 201Sept 2019

The North West Province had a very successful Rhino Summit in 2018. The Summit did set the platform for open and robust debate on issues of rhino security and conversation. South Africa can’t keep up with the cost of protecting rhinos and other endangered species.

Failing to keep up with the cost unfortunately compromises protection, on the one hand and on the other hand, it could cost South Africa's booming tourism industry a big loss. It is for this reason, that we should involve future generations in developing solutions to defy the threat of losing theses iconic species.

The youth also need to develop an understanding of the complexities of rhino conservation even at the early stages. This will enable them to come up with sustainable solutions to the problem.

To that end, the North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management invites all media houses to the Anti Rhino Poaching and Endangered Species Awareness Campaign.

The activity will be held as follows:

Date: 20 September 2019
Venue: Pilanesberg Nature Reserve (Bakgatla Resort)
Time: 08h00
